Pregnancy Due Date Calculator

A pregnancy due date calculator is a tool or online calculator that helps estimate the expected due date (EDD) of a pregnancy based on certain inputs, typically the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period (LMP) or the date of conception. These calculators use established algorithms to provide an estimate of when a woman is likely to give birth. 

The estimated due date (EDD) during pregnancy is the approximate date when a pregnant woman is expected to give birth. It is typically calculated based on the first day of the woman’s last menstrual period (LMP) and takes into account the average length of a full-term pregnancy, which is typically around 40 weeks or 280 days.  

However, it’s important to note that the EDD is just an estimate, and only a small percentage of women actually give birth on their due date. Pregnancy duration can vary from woman to woman, and factors such as the accuracy of the LMP date, the individual’s menstrual cycle, and other health factors can influence the actual date of delivery. Most healthcare providers consider a pregnancy full-term between 37 and 42 weeks. 

To increase the accuracy of the estimated due date, healthcare providers may also use ultrasound measurements taken during the early stages of pregnancy, which can provide a more precise estimate of the expected due date. Ultrasound dating is especially useful if there are uncertainties about the LMP date or irregular menstrual cycles.
